Abhayarishta also spelt as Abhayarishtam, Abhayarishtha is an Ayurvedic medicine used mainly for the digestive system. It is very much effective in Vata dominance and does Vatanulomana. It is used in gastritis, abdominal bloating, abdomen fullness, non-bleeding piles, chronic constipation etc.

Ingredients of Abhayarista

Following herbs or raw material are used to prepare Abhayarishta -

1. Abhaya (Haritaki)
2. Mridvika (Draksha)
3. Vidanga
4. Madhuka Kusuma
5. Water for decoction
6. Guda (jaggery)
7. Shvadamshtra (Gokshura)
8. Trivrita (Trivrit)
9. Dhanya (Dhanyaka)
10. Dhataki
11. Indravaruni
12. Chavya
13. Madhurika (Mishreya)
14. Shunthi
15. Danti
16. Mocharasa (Shalmali)

Dosage of Abhayarishta

It may taken in a dosage of 10 to 20 ml mixed with equal quantity of lukewarm water twice a day after meal.

Indications and Uses of Abhayarishta

It is indicated in Arsha (Haemorrhoids), Udara (Diseases of abdomen / enlargement of abdomen), Mutra Vibandha (Retention of urine), Agnimandya (Digestive impairment), Varcho vibandha (Impaction due to hard stools).
